James Bond has driven many Aston Martins so come and see one of the latest models at Ormskirk MotorFest!

Legendary spy James Bond has driven Aston Martins on screen for more than 50 years. One of the latest models, adorned in Red Bull Racing livery celebrating the company’s sponsorship of this successful Formula 1 team, is coming to the Ormskirk MotorFest on Sunday 26 August.

A number of models of Aston Martin cars have featured in a number of Bond films, including different types of DB5 in Goldfinger and Skyfall. The DB10 was seen in action with actor Daniel Craig at the wheel in the most recent Bond film Spectre.

The new Aston Martin 5.2 Litre V12 DB11 Coupe has almost become a celebrity in its own right as it has been on display in Liverpool and Manchester several times since the turn of the year.

Motoring fans will be able to see this fabulous car close up when it is brought to the Ormskirk MotorFest on Sunday 26 August by Aston Martin Wilmslow.

The Ormskirk Motorfest, one of the biggest free family events in the North West of England, is organised by Aintree Circuit Club and supported by West Lancashire Borough Council.

The Aston Martin will be one of up to 300 classic and competition vehicles from all eras of motoring will be on display in Coronation Park and Ormskirk town centre streets.

Peter Kiernan, Events and Brand Partnership Manager at Aston Martin Wilmslow, said: “We may be in Wilmslow but we are the local Aston Martin dealership to West Lancashire and we are delighted to support the Ormskirk MotorFest by bringing this very special car. We are really looking forward to the event and people are welcome come and take a closer look at our Aston Martin DB11.”

The Red Bull Formula 1 has enjoyed spectacular racing success in the last decade. Sebastian Vettel won four consecutive world titles between 2010 and 2013, while one of its current drivers Daniel Ricciardo finished third in the 2016 championship and fifth last year. Aston Martin are their current title sponsors.

Mike Ashcroft, chairman of Aintree Circuit Club, said: “We are really pleased that Aston Martin Wilmslow have provided the Aston Martin DB11 for the Ormskirk MotorFest. The Aston Martin is an iconic car and I am sure this model will be a big attraction at the event, particularly with the Red Bull livery adorning the bonnet.

“The MotorFest will be fantastic free event for all the family don’t miss this great day out on Sunday 26 August.”

Councillor John Hodson, portfolio holder for Planning, said: “Come along to the Ormskirk MotorFest and see the Aston Martin and all the other wonderful cars and motorcycles on display. With many thousands of visitors expected to come to Ormskirk for the MotorFest, we hope town centre businesses will take advantage of this great opportunity and open up on MotorFest day.”

There is still some room for owners of particularly high-quality vehicles to put them forward in advance for the MotorFest’s Concours de Elegance competition through www.ormskirkmotorfest.com.

As well as enjoying all the fantastic cars visitors to MotorFest can also browse around the Makers Market on the Ormskirk Bus Station Car Park.
