When is the 2017 Ormskirk MotorFest?

Bank Holiday Sunday – 27th August 2017.

What time does Ormskirk MotorFest start?

Vehicles are on display in the town centre and Coronation Park for public viewing from 11am. The parade begins at 2:30pm.

Do I have to pay to attend?

It is free to attend the event as a spectator and to enter your vehicle. All parts of the 1 mile parade circuit are accessible to visitors but spectators must at all times stay behind barriers and remain on the pavement and take notice of instructions from event Marshals, Officials and the Police regarding event safety, viewing position and general conduct.

Event Safety!

Event Safety is paramount and parades will either not run or will be stopped if spectators are deemed to be standing in an unsafe area or location, including encroachment onto the highway, which must be kept clear at all times.

How do I get to the event?

Ormskirk is well located to take advantage of both road and rail networks, however, due to the high volume of visitors on the day, we would highly recommend using public transport.

A park and ride service is available from Edge Hill University off the A570. Parking is £5 all day and includes free bus transfer to Ormskirk on Classic Liverpool Corporation buses. www.edgehill.ac.uk/location.

For those travelling by train there are regular Merseyrail services to Ormskirk train station, which is ideally located two minutes’ walk from MotorFest. To plan your journey visit the Merseyrail site www.merseyrail.org. Limited free town centre car parking is also available on the day.

Official Road Closure!

PLEASE NOTE: From 14.30 to 16.30, the Parade Route around the Town Centre – Park Road, Derby Street, Stanley Street and St Helens Road (A570) will be under an Official Road Closure/Traffic Regulatory Order. This means that both vehicles and pedestrians have no right of access to these roads during this period.

Only Participants’ vehicles and Event Marshals, Officials and the Police will be allowed on the highway during this period.

If you are shopping or visiting Ormskirk during this period, you must exit any car parks or roads within the parade route BEFORE 14.30. You will not be able to leave after this period as all exits from this route will be physically blocked.

Advanced notification of all roads affected by the road closure will be in force for the two weeks prior to the event with roadside and car park signage together with Media Notices.

How do I enter my vehicle to show at the event?

Please complete and submit our online registration form.

I have registered my vehicle, now what?

You should receive an automated email  to confirm that your entry form has been received on our system . You will then be allocated a static display location for your vehicle, either in the Town Centre or Coronation Park, until the event entry is full. Reserve entries may then be allocated as received.

IMPORTANT: Due to environmental improvement works taking place in Ormskirk Town Centre, display locations in the Town Centre may be limited this year with more vehicles being located in Coronation park.

This may also limit the number of vehicles we can run in the Parades.

You may also be invited to enter the new “Ormskirk Concours de Elegance” for which there will be a £10 Entry Fee, which will take place in Coronation Park.

You will receive “Final Instructions” approximately two weeks before the event, which will contain all the information you will need to participate on the day.

Note: All vehicles will be on static display from 10.00 and will only move from their display locations if selected for a parade. Participants must only move vehicles under the direction of event Marshals or Officials.
